Somewhere for a good bash?

Hi all,

I'm looking for somewhere to stay for a good weekend away in the dales (or elswhere, suggestions welcome) before christmas.

We normally book the cottage at southerscales as its ideal; isolated (can be noisy), big (sleeps 20+ but says 8), tatty (you can have a food fight etc) and good for parking and the pub. Unfortunatley its been booked already this year so we need somewhere new- hence the question, doe's anyone know anywhere suitable.

ta ta,

just stayed the weekend at http://www.howgillsbunkbarn.co.uk/sedbergh/index.htm

Really awesome barn - bit posh though for a caving do (defo. not a food fight type of place) but very nice all the same.

I think you can hire it piecemeal - i.e. just one dorm at a time. Not sure how that affects the price though.

It's ok but it's too far from a pub.

How about the Craven Pothole Club digs? Right next door to a pub. Brilliant!

I'm pretty sure it's members of members' guests only, unfortunately.

YSS hut .. right next to the Helwith.

I was going to suggest the YSS but I got the feeling that "tubby two" was looking for a place to have a "do" as opposed to just a bunk and cooking facilities.

For my two pence worth I'd have to suggest Bull Pot Farm, great for the party aspect, but sadly lacking in pub facilities unless you fancy a long walk to the Barbon Inn.www.rrcpc.org.uk

Aye, looking for somewhere for a do. Found you can stay in the place on the pavement just above the parking for alum- anyone stayed there before? Any good?

A cottage or farmhouse thats rentable would be ideal.

The Station Inn has a bunkhouse that has been used for DUSA dinner meets quite a few times.

We (LC%CC) had at the Station Inn in February. The bunkrooms were pretty
bad but I stayed in the car which was even worse. Mainly due to the bikers
camping over the all under the viaduct listening to dance music all night.
Ale was great, food not so great.
