I'll own up: other than a bit of exploration down a couple of mines, I haven't done ANY conservation work. I'm very grateful to those that do, but I really don't need reminding 6 times a week of the good works individuals undertake. I'll repeat a deleted comment: Self praise is no praise.

Then you should! All the DCA Officers do a great job, but any help is appreciated. And needed. Adam and Pete are doing a great job. If you don't want to read these comments, then don't read them.

FFS, this is getting like the CNCC threads...

Just been on a great trip with zomjon and owd git down a fine matlock mine. Then on for a couple of pints.  I now await zomjons next post with interest.

who'll open the next can??

Err, -- Winnats Head ? (duck head below parapet).

Group of active UK cavers going there tonight to check. Sure they'll be along tomorrow to update us all.

Since I've just said 'yes' to a trip in Winnats in about a week, I think a handy chisel might be appropriate for the squeeze, just to extricate myself of course!  :chair:

You must be psychic, Bograt or (more likely) well informed.

The second squeeze below Fox Chamber (the one just above the climb down to the sump at the Down in the Sewer crawl) has been removed. It's still a tricky climb down, although there's an in situ handline to help, but on tonight's trip I didn't have to breath out and ease myself through, as I normally do - and it's certainly not because I've suddenly got thinner!
