Has anyone tried shagging whales? - there's quite a few local chavs who do this regularly, if my eyes don't deceive me.
 I know people who go to Wales to go shagging, they say you've got to be a complete "dork" if u can't pull  in Wales!
These Whale shaggers Chris they don't do it openly in the Gorge do they?

Did you get a reply rom Iceland (the frozen food company)?

I just spotted this in the Icelandic news ...

Yes did, here it is..

I now have a response to your query regarding companies that source
Icelandic products.

"We appreciate that as a consequence of our name some customers may
associate recent press articles on Icelandic whaling activity with our
stores. Iceland stores are in no way involved in, or condone, the practice
of Whaling. "

Thank you, once again for contacting us about this matter and I hope you
will continue to enjoy shopping with us in the future.

Kind regards

Well I have to say how disgusted I am theat Iceland has restarted whaling, with the news today that they killed their first Fin whale (a species on the UN endangered list). The world has survived without killing whales for decades, so there is clearly no compelling reason to restart.

Personally, I'm going to avoid buying any product identifiable as being sources from Iceland, and I'd encourage everyone to do the same. I'll also boycott and company that sources products from there.

Consumer power may have an effect, where weak-kneed politicians do not.

This is a typical example of greed over environmental concerns. Stuff 'em thats what I say.

I think you will find
they are stuffed

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article4910126.ece

No our councils and police force stuffed themselves by investing heavily offshore, and not taking their money out when the credit crunch began SIX MONTHS ago..... Did they not watch the news... Doh!!!

Anyone who leaves over the protected amount in any bank at the moment is officially STOOPID

Blimey, you're rich: I'm a-guessin' you've got around ?200,000!

Can I be your fwend?

____

To be not stoopid, a County Council with, say, ?15million in an Icelandic account should have split the funds into separate accounts to qualify for the investors' compensation scheme such that rather than holding 1 account they would hold 300 accounts. Surely, another method of achieving the same outcome (and saving a huge amount of bureaucratic buggeration and half a mile of shelf space for the statements and accompanying documentation) would be for the European Government(s) to guarantee 100% of depositors' funds.

Not everyone. I have more than the 'protected' amount in an account (yes, you can be my friend too Cap'n!). I took out a fixed term deposit and it has only got 2 months left until it matures. If I take it out early I lose my squideroonies of interest. So I hope it will last just a little bit longer. It is C&G who are meant to be fairly sound I hope.
