A fell-running, Keswick-residing mate of mine reckons it's Joppelty How, above Watendlath
Just looked on the OS map. Yep, that's certainly a likely candidate.
If you're back there next week, I'd also recommend his cafe Fellpack on Lake Road which does some mighty tasty grub. They'll probably tell you the best way to climb it too...

Has nobody else tried Google Earth or similar?  If this is the same peak, it's just to the north of Watendlath (probably Joppelty How, but not named by Google).

That's a coincidence Spike! Some of our Keswick neighbours were recommending that very place & we were intending to go for a meal there next week.

Finding good places to eat can be surprisingly difficult in Keswick; so many places only serve your boring old pub-type grub. Good ones often don't stay good when they change staff, which they seem to do very regularly. The Dog and Gun's legendary goulash is pretty poor these days.

Oh dear!  I was hoping that some knowledgeable person would take one look at my photo and say "Ah yes! I recognize that unmistakable outline!  It's ...."

But if you are feeling hungry in Keswick I can recommend the 'Kingfisher.'  Excellent sized portions, delicious fish and chips, and you shouldn't miss their Cumberland sausage.

Having said that, they were recommending the Fellpack  at the Convention back in July.  Never got round to trying it, though.

Fish & chips? Can't beat The Old Keswickian!

Trouble is Roger, there are lots of pointy bit sticking up thereabouts, and they all look different depending from where you happen to be seeing them from.

True, Tony - very true!

I knew, amongst my thousands of photos around Keswick, I'd find some that showed this feature. Here's a couple that show the bump in question - I'm now pretty certain it's Ether Knott, which I've marked with a red arrow in both photos. Joppety How's further to the south, more prominent, and closer to Castle Crag. I've marked this with a green arrow.

If you look at the shape of the ridgeline in Roger's photo it appears to match the profile around Ether Nott too. First photo's from Latrigg, second from Castle Head.

I found an image of Ether Knott on the interweb, taken from the south. I've mirrored the image horizontally, to make it as if seen from the north, and the profile (see attachment) is remarkably similar to the image in the OP

The original uncropped image is here, scroll halfway down to find image

If you use peak finder on that circled peak it appears to be "great end"

I would have said that Great End was the almost invisible peak just above the rooftop with the TV aerial and just to the left of where High Spy comes down.  Seen more clearly in this shot:

We've been in Keswick since last Friday, but the weather has not been kind to us crag-spotters. Here's a photo from this morning, looking across the lake directly towards Walla Crag -

Excellent photo, Tony - capturing the very essence of  the Lake District.  But - as you say - not very good weather for identifying peaks and crags.

I think we can go with Ether Knott for the "mystery peak."
