Swildons sump number one

I did it as part of a throught trip a year ago from priddy and at the time I did not know there was another way around so just went for it. Did not give my time to think about it. Gratz on going through especially in this cold weather, I went round it last weekend.

Yup, I knew that if I thought about it for more than 15 seconds I would have bottled it so I just took a deep breath and pulled myself through. Came out the other side laughing like a mad thing ;-)

It's my first visit to Mendip but won't be my last.  Also got to visit GB and shatter, both stunning caves but for different reasons.  Good times in the Wessex hut too. Friendly folk!

Swildons Sump 1 was my first sump as well...a few years ago now but I still remember the "Shall I/Shan't I" feeling...letting everyone else go through first until it was just me left...a few words of...shall we say encouragement  could be heard from my fellow cavers on the other side and so it was...I knelt down in the water...took a deep breath and under I went...

As you say once you take that initial dive and go for it, its over so quickly you wonder what the fuss was about but its a good rush
