swildons troubles siphon???

Locate the end of the hose in the first trouble, push through the hole in the base of one of the buckets or basins nearby, and hold assembly firmly together above the water, get your mate to fill the basin you are holding, using one of the other buckets to hand. When the hose is flowing nicely, drop the hose under the water and away it goes. Either have a trip to Swildons 4 down blue pencil passage while it empties, or bail by hand as well...

DO NOT USE THIS METHOD: Immerse top end of syphon in the pool (weight with rock for good measure).  Go to the other end of the pipe and place mouth against it ensuring a good seal.  Suck like bu**ery until you feel the pressure wave of the water rushing down the pipe as the syphon action starts.  Forget to stop and remove end of pipe from face thereby inhaling a good lungful of the First Trouble.  :yucky: Cough and splutter your way around the rest of the trip, pausing only to laugh at someone who has to strip naked to get through "Not birthday Squeeze".  Wonder if you'll get some nasty lung infection.

You shouldn't laugh at people struggling with NBS - it's cruel. John helped me. Thank you John and I think I still owe you

Actually, just holding the upper end of the syphon tube in the air usually gets it started: it sends a big enough slug of water down the pipe to start the suction - just put the end back in the pool before all the water runs out of the pipe...  (y)
