    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Does anybody know where the vertical shaft, surrounded by stunted trees, between Talysarn and the old cilgwyn slate quarry. Its situated in an inclined field behind the houses at the western end of the village.

Do you mean Nantlle rather than Talysarn? I know there's a shaft half heartedly covered (near the slate chimney) to the west of Twll Mawr and Nantlle.

PS I can never remember which is which..

i believe that one is part of the old 'Gwaith copre' works.
The one i'm one about is behind talysarn, in the field behind the houses. The only indication, is a small fenced group of stunted trees.
As some time i think some of the area was reclaimed.

Could you give a grid reference for it?

The co-ordinates are shown at the bottom right of the left hand window.
