Tearsall Pipe Caverns

Had a nice little explore around the "Pool Series" of Tearsall Pipe Caverns a couple of weeks ago... but it did take some time finding the entrance! Nice little trip though :)

Anyway, two questions...
1) Can anyone describe how to find the entrance shaft to the "Sump Series"? Or is it now unaccessible?
2) Is it possible to make a through trip to/from the "Pool Series"? (heard mixed rumours)

Its just to the  north of the footpath and has a steel lid.

No, the proposed quarry extension is to the west of the existing quarry.

thanks Speleokitty :) ...so both entrance shafts (Pool Series and Sump Series) are both just to the north of the footpath? Is the Sump Series shaft north or south from the Pool Series shaft?

Have marked the location of the Pool Series shaft below (also with a steel lid)...
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=53.138247,-1.603757&daddr=&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=0&sz=18&sll=53.138163,-1.603886&sspn=0.00242,0.004678&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=18

Tiz an interesting area littered with loads of shafts...

Hmm

I'm being extra blonde and getting the entrances mixed up. The entrance to Sump Series is on the other side of the path approximately 60m NNE of Pool Shaft.

Just as a matter of interest are these the southerly extension of the Millclose pipes?

No, the southern extension of Millclose Pipes is further west. If you stand by the Red Lion at the top of Wensley and look south across the dale you will see a series of rake trenches and hillocks heading up the hill towards the quarry, this is the southern extension of the Millcose Pipes. None of the remaining workings are very extensive unlike those that were destroyed by the quarry.
