Can we have the cite.php extension?

This would allow is to have numbered footnote references

I have added a simple Captcha system to new user registrations.

In order to register, you have to put the answer to a simple, randomly generated sum into a form field.

This is to stop spambots signing up.

Don't make the sum too difficult, or we won't get any freshers joining up!!

This system also seems to come in when you try to add a link into an article.
makes sense. presumably some people have a problem with robots adding porn/viagra websites to wikis.

Yes, that's right - if a foreign link is posted then it challenges the user.
