Hi Pete,Assuming from your post that this was "officially" donated, do you happen to know if they had the jump through any hoops to get around the risk of getting done for illegal waste disposal?
One if the mums on the school run works in the office at our local Hanson's quarry (we'll one of them...) and she's offered to try sorting some belt, but wasn't sure if they'd have issues as it's classed as waste.
Previously, I've just got it from the lads working the quarry floor who don't give a toss about the regs, so long as they don't get caught, but my contact has since moved on...
Thanks for the response.Hi Pete,
I have no knowledge of any official disposal documents. When we first started looking for belting, to try to reduce the number of underground personnel required, i went on ebay. It was quite clear that theres a trade in s/h belting. The materials we received are excellent and could doubtless have been traded for gain.
If they had been traded at the rates which I've seen then the quarry would probably benefit. Maybe if its quality material, it isn't waste?
Nevertheless I'm unaware of any problems with this. Are you in need of these materials yourselves? I can perhaps follow up another lead which popped up in the interim.
Best regards
