The road to Bull Pot Farm

Fell Road has suffered badly from the recent ice and rain. There are some rather large potholes in the road and some deep trenches at the roadside. The worst are near the first corner on the hill and the straight section after the second corner.

Red Rose have now logged the state of the road with Cumbria County Council highways dept. - we hold our breath!!!

Cumbria Highways response yesterday - They put some traffic cones in each hole. Won derful!

At Rookham on Mendip the council came up about a month ago and put up a Temporary Road surface sign by the potholes there. That's that fixed then for at least the next 2 years.

lol, not been along it for ages so don't know condition, but it sounds like a bloody slalom course now!

Well it was only a couple of weeks ago that I was cursing about the state of the road while slaloming round the potholes and road cones: some of the potholes were so deep a handline would have been useful for novices. I am pleased to say that the holes have now been filled in and they even smoothed over a rough bit near Bull Pot Farm.

Aww the cones and half-patched holes gone - t'was still like a fun slalom course the oher weekend. 

Wonder how long the patches will last though..

The rough bit by Bullpot Farm has been improved by members of the Red Rose - not the County Council as its not actually an adopted public highway
