Helen,

Would it be your intention to do these 5 trips consecutively over a 3 day period?

If so, I think it's a (very) bad idea.

I thought the idea was just to do the through trip? That's going to be a pretty long trip to the sump and then out of Price's. Probably the longest out of the five, presuming the Draenen trip is the round trip. Might as well do it leisurely on a day on its own.

Day 1: OFD, Dan yr Ogof (OFD first to be fresh for the traverses!), sleep at Penwyllt
Day 2: Daren, sleep at Whitewalls
Day 3: Aggy, Draenen  Or maybe, Aggy, sleep at Whitewalls, Draenen, depending on time

Day 4-8:

Doable. Maybe  ;)

I'm guessing that the "bad idea" is more to do with conservation and avoiding the creation of an underground equivalent of the Three Peaks rather than to do with the personal fitness of whoever is attempting the contrivance.

Re: Agen Allwedd - has anyone done the inner and outer circles AND the then the grand circle to finish (or reverse)? That would bump the trip more in line with the longer of the other trips mooted.

As the Three Peaks is mentioned under in the Yorkshire list, presumably the Welsh 3,000s would have to be included in the Welsh portion of the list. And maybe Penyfan and Cadair Idris as nearly-3,000s of great merit.

Any why not cycle between each cave (and mountain). With all your kit. And with an anvil. There is no limit to what you can add if you use your imagination...  :)

.... with only a handful of seeds for sustenance, while doing a one finger full body push-up every 100 metres and holding your breath for two minutes every other minute. Just to make it a proper challenge, like.

If you want a real challenge - that only a handful of people have ever got to the end of - then Ogof Hesp Alyn is a must.

16 pitches - 2 sumps that can be drained - fantastic varied cave with so much to do and see.  Oh, and a little mud.

I recollect a seven circles trip which included the three mentioned here.

I know Les W has already made the point with his "  " but just to change that to a "  ", OHA is an absolute chocolate mud cake. You will turn into a sloppy human mud sausage within minutes of entry and suffer an undignified 100 metre crawl and crouch through "slop" (take knee pads) before you emerge, looking like you have taken a dive into a freshly received sewerage pot, into the main cave.

It has it's challenges from then on but the last thing you will face coming out is that 100 metre slop tube.

Great cave though - although I am not away of anyone actually making it to the end and back in one trip (without the sumps being drained the day before)

;)
