I'm wanting to compile a list of caving through trips in the peak District.
So I'm aware of Merlin's to carlswalk
Titan to peak cavern
Cliffestyle to cussey

What else is out there?

Gentlewomans, via Old Jants etc to Artists Corner is a great trip. A shorter trip with the same exit via Deep/Day Shaft. Eyam Dale Shaft to Carlswalk Gin is a nice easy one. Various exits in Peak-Speedwell from JH too. Masson Cavern has two easily accessible entrances + shafts. Clatterway Levels. aswell.

Depends if you mean through trips where one team can do the trip in a particular direction in a single go, with no prerigging, or a trip that requires one, or more up pitches to be pre-rigged, or it done as an exchange between two teams.

So I'm thinking about a challenge for myself so I'd like to link as many through trips as possible so ideally no requiring a team to prerig

As i know you love the Stoney Catchment, there's the "classic" (probably never done before) of the Stoney Traverse ™

Layby Top -> Layby Bottom
Ivy Green West -> Ivy Green East
Streaks Top -> Streaks Bottom
Merlins Adit -> Carlswark Resurgence
Fingal's Cave -> Triple Hole (!?!)
Keyhole Cave West -> Keyhole Cave East
Windy Ledge Cave West -> Windy Ledge Cave East

I reckon there's more underground than above ground on that trip, until the walk back to the car.... And no pre-rigging needed :love:

Obviously the best way is with a pre-beer before each underground venture 🍻

There’s a couple in cheshire, those mines around alderley edge.

The eldon hole bonanza, great for a sunny day!

And surely there must be some round trips in Derbyshire (other than giants) that you only use the entrance twice.

I think there’s several entrances to Ecton copper mines too, but I’ve never been in, if you get a trip let me know and I’ll join. I think it will be leader led though.

Although there are a number of possible SRT through trips at Ecton the Ecton Mines Educational Trust don't permit access to the shafts for leisure trips. The only through trip allowed at Ecton is the Deep Level - Salts trip, using the ladderway.

And very interesting from a geology - archaeology - industrial heritage stand point! Spent so long gawping and talking peeps were getting cold on the PDMHS trip I was on. The H2S seeps were of particular interest as the last remnants of the mineralising forces that put the copper there to be dug.
