I only just found this out, and it's not published very well, so I thought I would share an FYI here.
The version of Topodroid on the google play store is no longer being updated. If you want to get the latest version of Topodroid you need to download the APK directly from http://marcocorvi.altervista.org/caving/speleoapps/speleoapks/SpeleoApks.html.
