Noodles are great, mmmm Mild Curry flavour :D

A few day's ago i sat down on a rock (funny that) and decided to eat my wheat bar and it was so dry it sucked every ounce of moisture from my mouth, i felt like drinking the cave dry.

It was a Sainsburys Wheat and Yogurt bar - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

As I said before the hackers came along a mid trip cuppa soup can be better than sex. Wouldn't bother with a break in Goatchurch etc though...

For long cold trips with a stove Smash is the way ahead.

Trail Mix is brilliant for sustained trips without a stove, make your own out of non soggy stuff;

Minstrels
M & M's
Nuts, cashew and pistachio
Sunflower & pumpkin seeds
Dried bannana flakes

Put them all in a 0.5l wide neck nalgene and shake.
You can swig from the nalgene making it neat and easy.
Otherwise Marsbars or Sickers (why did they ever change from Marathon?)

If you've got a stove ( or hex blocks ) and a water source, there's only serious answer - home made soup ! I've used these for many years, and my favourite is the following:-

Spicy Pepper soup

Potato flakes/pdr...............25g.
Dried milk.........................25g.
Dried parsley.....................heaped tsp.
Bouillon pdr.......................level tsp.
Ground red/green peppers..2 tsp.
Curry pdr..........................1 tsp.
Coconut milk pdr................1 tsp.
Garlic pdr...........................half tsp.
Salt & pepper......................to taste.

Add to hot water.

Dry wt....60g.
Carbo.....29g.

Wow sounds much more appetising than a flat grit covered Mars Bar. I may give it a try!

Not really going for any of those, i'm a chocolate man underground. Normally its snickers, but double deckers are pretty good too. I took a flake down corkys and when i ate it in mud hall it was only in three pieces and wasnt crushed into nothing. I was quite impressed by its crumbliest, flakiest strength!
