Have been after a copy for ages but a bit reluctant to pay ?50 on amazon.

Also if anyone can recommend any other titles in this area it would be greatly appreciated.

I got it from Speleobooks in the States; they were very efficient, and it arrived soon after I had placed my order. I can't remember what I paid ? but it certainly wouldn't have been ?50!!
Try emailing: speleobooks@speleobooks.com

Also available for ?40 from Speleo Projects in Switzerland. The postage might be less than from the States.

If you can wait until Hidden Earth they'll bring you over a copy - but that's a long wait.

PS
It's an excellent book.

Since you asked for suggestions....I have heard nothing but good things about his geology class he teaches at Mammoth, I think it is 2 weeks, every summer. I plan on doing it some day. Usually part classroom and then lots of caving woo field trips! You can take it for college credit and write a research type paper upon completion (they work with the uni - Western Kentucky I think) or you can take it just as a person and then no papers and stuff. Here is a flyer from last year http://caveandkarst.wku.edu/11brochure.pdf If you are interested and can get over to the states...DO ETTTTTT. I cant find the general not-through-uni info but it should be coming out next year. Stuff about it is always posted on our US forum.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I now have a copy winging its way to me from the states...  :-\ Hope its not caver post.

Although the 2 week summer course in the states looks great, I don't think I could justify the costs...  Does anyone know if there is anything similar in the UK?  If there isn't maybe there should be?

Kentucky cavers are great there is pretty cheap/free housing. Flight is likely your most expensive but if you had a month holiday or something combine it with a trip to TAG we'll show you a great time and well worth the flight cost then!! Leave your suits at home you'll overheat in our stuff lol. Well ok sometimes it is nice for really wet caves.
