That's the hardest one of the four to find now, as it had the smallest print run. There have been a few copies come back to PDMHS recently from the libraries of deceased members but I think they've been resold now- have you contacted the Mining Museum to ask them?

I haven't yet but will do thank you :)

I've got a lot of the PDMHS journals on the area but trying to build a bit of a library myself on VG

I've got vol 3 but looking for more info on the South side 😁

Because it was a smallish print run, it sold out quickly and those of us who subscribed or bought it at the time are unlikely to sell because of course we're mining enthusiasts! Hence, the only time I've ever seen copies up for sale is as mentioned above, when PDMHS get left the libraries of deceased members we sell on anything we've already got copies of so there have been one or two copies of vol.4 come through in recent years, but I suspect they'll have been snapped up pretty quickly.

It's funny how all the volumes are like busses though, none seen for ages then a load of the same volume appear together on ebay!

While I remember, I do still have a few copies left of Adventurers of the Lead Trade, which is the book I worked on with Jim about the Thornhill estate mines in 2013. It's a bit more specific, but it's a beautiful thing, and features photos of some mines or parts of mines that rarely, if ever get seen, never mind documented. And cheaper new from me than secondhand on Amazon, which seems to be the only place now that has any at all.
