Warning : Rope Eating Cows at Knotlow Mine!

Like a kid at Christmas, I trotted over to Knotlow mine on Saturday with my shiny new 100m rope. I even treated it to labels and heatshrink at either end to aid identification. How gutted was I 5 hours later, to climb out of the shaft and discover a local cow had chewed the heatshrink right off the rope!!

This begs the question, could a cow chew right through the rope, therefore jeopardizing safety?

Cows once ate all the window seals on our landrover, at Carsington Pasture Cave

Arghhh! You were lucky. If you take the syntax of your subject line literally, you really mean that your rope was caught eating cows! You would never have got it through your jammers! I wonder if the rope throttles the animals like a boa constrictor, before devouring them?

I once found about 4 slings, all larksfooted together that were totally coverd in cow sh1te/slime lying in a field near Lawrenfield. It did look like they had been through a cow......

Rats ate all the rubber strain relief off our 110v cable plugs in Hangover Hole. At least I think it was rats.

My chinchillas blew up my radio my eating through the mains cable. (!)

Cows ate through the guy ropes on my parents caravan awning causing the whole lot to collapse in the night once when I was a child.

I also remember staying in the caravan somewhere near Castleton in a field of cows, obviously right over their favourite bit of grass as they literally head-butted the caravan over a few feet to get to it.
