Are you really planning to visit three caves separated by a distance of about 15 miles during the dead of night on a weekday?

Stoke on Saturday was apparently very very wet - not advisable.

Swildon's is wet but this just makes it more sporting, not dangerous - yet.

Longwood I would hazard a guess and say it would be suspect and August would more than likely be fun  ;)

Saying that we have had little or no rain since the weekend so levels may have dropped slightly, although from the forecast some more wet stuff is on it's way ..................

No three in one night that's Greedy even for me !
I'm away this weekend & wanted to know what the water levels have been like, while I keep an eye on the Forecast for the rest of the Week.
Stoke Wet ! only time to do I got lost a few years ago when there wasn't a stream crawling about in the boulders before Pebble Crawl. The Only time I've been in there in 25 years when there hasn't been Water in Pebble Crawl.

I can imagine Stoke Lane would flood to the roof very quickly after a short bit of rain.

Not necessarily, if the water's going over the concrete it's a good indication Don't Bother I've been in when the stream's got a good flow & it's been sporty but safe. If the first duck looks high call it a day.

I've been in Stoke when the entrance was actually a whirlpool. It was our first visit there, so we hadn't seen it any other state. Good fun, and most exhillarating. The route to the sump, as I recall, only had a couple of inches of airspace. We were unsure of the route so spuddled around for a bit before retreating to the whirlpool. I seem to remember we were looking for the peeble crawl, but as everything was under water we failed to find it. Great fun when wet. Dank, dour and fetid when dry.

I always wanted to buy a water level, I thought it would be good for cave surveying, probably, very much more accurate for comparing/measuring heights :alien:

Don't dream it; do it.

Alternatively why not just buy a hosepipe and make your own water level? - it's not exactly bucket science.

Good for accurate setting out of a building but not really practical for cave surveying except perhaps for a small archaeological survey :alien:

;)
Water tables are overflowing in Bracknell and it has not rained for three days, just like early autumn, it's so balmy. ;)
Can't go caving this weekend, must eat our Christmas Dinner
