Some time in the near future, Waitrose will be raising money for WBCRT.  If you are passing Abergavenny, please stop at Waitrose and if WBCRT are one the donation boxes, please buy something and put the green tokin you should receive and put it in our box.

This will help raise money to rescue cavers throughout south and mid Wales, especially usefull now that we have taken over the Gwent area (Draenen, Aggy, Darren etc)

Cheers,

Pete.

Don't think the filling station is involved.

I will keep my eyes open Pete next time I'm in there. Are you going to the exercise on the 10th?

Mark

PS I got your message the other day  ..cheers

You know my wife will use the slightest excuse to take detour to Waitrose and spend a fortune on posh food! We may need to extend the overdraught.

No the Bowser is not involved; pitty because it is the cheapest place, I know, to fill up (I don't count Shell in Crickhowell because their diesel makes my car run like a chaff cutter)

I will be there, maybe even on my bike It's a nice quick ride around the escarpment.

Would have thought most cavers were too mean to use somewhere like Waitrose.  :coffee:

Don't you eat well Graham?

An interesting point though.

Caving on Sat and fix your car on Sun to get home.
Now look at a caving club carpark - can't see most engines for the computer and injectors.

Very well, thanks, Jopo. Fresh produce from the local market helps. ;)

Ah yes, but we only had to fix it 'cos it fell in a ditch on the way back from the pub on Saturday night.

Reminds me of a comment from a mate in the MNRC a couple of years back:

"There are more bloody computers and mobile phones on charge in the Hut on Saturday night than there are caving lamps!"

It amazes me how far a request for people to put little green plastic disks will diverge  :spank:.  perhaps I should have started a discussion on the annual showing of the latest trends in caving bras at the Hidden Earth stomp last weekend :D :D

So start such a thread and link to available photographic evidence.

There is photographic evidence on Facebook but I'm not sure you can link to Facebook(?)

I was in waitrose this afternoon and WBCRT is one of this months charities. Believe it or not we are already doing far better than the other two.

So make sure everyone coming to the area goes in and buys something so that they can get a tokin for our box!!!

Well out in front. I stood there today for a few minutes offering helpful advice to passing shoppers and putting subliminal messages into the heads of others who appeared undecided. Needless to say each and every token fell in the Rescue pot during this period! (y)

In there last Friday and IIRC correctly about ?512  was raised for the team. Not bad for little green tokens! The other 2 charities had about ?200 each
