A hooley is a strong wind ie. a gale.

It must be autumn because there is a strong wind, everybody knows that you always get strong winds in the autumn, they blow all the leaves off the trees (and they blow trees over as well)

The rain held off till late afternoon down here in stockbroker land, which meant our members kids trip to the mines wasn't spoilt by damp children. A good day, letting the children get to know each other and explore at the same time.

Well spare a thought for the poor couple who got married yesterday and were due to have their reception in a marquee in my flat field. While they were in the church the wind blew the thing away where it caught in the electirc HT cables and knocked out the power to the whole valley for over and hour.      :

I assume that translates as " its raining", as rain seems to be what the welsh get in lieu of weather!

I assume they thought better of the idea.
