Sorry Langcliffe, tried to put a bigger version but it put it on its side.

That seems a bit of a Verstappen Moment given the last time I was in that spot I was using Langcliffes topo.

I am getting very light on photos of the Dales, but here is a very old one of a students arse. I can only hope the available rig has improved. It is not an obscure cave.

OK, try this.
The helmet is off for a reason, given the dimensions of the passage I'm exiting from.

How big is your helmet? I've never taken mine off for Mick's End!
Funny you should say that. I have a Ecrin Roc and I think I'm one of the few cavers who doesn't like it(despite using one for years). I find its over wide and gets jammed very easily. I thinking of trying to get hold of another Elios of which I prefer or trying the Boreo.

As someone who quite simply struggles in anything approaching snug, I find Mick's End not too bad. Having said that I've only ever been from Dismal Hill to Old Ing and that starts as hands and knees so I am making progress before realising I am in snug. I don't take my helmet off though.  I miss that trip, looking forward to better relations with the farmers.

Is the dummy and attachment strap a Petzl accessory these days? Not so back in the day.

Our youngest once spent three weeks in a harness with some climbing rope tied from the back to something solid. Keeps them where you want them for sure. Also handy to have a lifting strap.

It's the crawling on gravel bit that doesn't feel familiar (I'm presuming that'd be a hands and knees crawl for me). So I don't think it's Runscar/Thistle. Roger Kirk possibly? But that's not particularly near to either Rinscar/Thistle or Gunnerfleet.

Answering not because I'm hoping to get it right but because I want to know where it is, and I don't want the thread to die without someone getting it right or you telling us.

Hi Kay

Close enough, you mentioned the cave  (y)

Yes it?s Thistle Cave  ;)

The tiny caver prefers Thistle as she can independently manage more of it than Runscar.

Over to you.
