Got one but prefer my panini press.  ;)
On the odd occasion when I venture outside and happen upon some establishment selling such food and I fancy aforementioned food I always ask for a toasted sandwich, not some poncy panini..  :ras:

What on earth has this country become, before long people will be requesting 'fritte e pesce' because it's the new social 'in thing' to say.  ::)
Panini press is just a name. It's actually two heated flat plates that close on each other with a sandwich inbetween, rather than one which shapes the sandwich and cuts the crusts off. Far less sophisticated than a Breville or whatever.
Off course if you're the posh type that doesn't eat his crust, then............

Cheese on toast with beans on is the food of the gods.

It's a clash of textures - smoothness of cheese with granularity of beans - nearly as bad as spaghetti and beans which I learnt a long time ago don't mix.

That bit looks burnt. :(
i'd cut the burnt bits off! Cheese on toast is the best drunken munchie food going... Although i have learned that even if you put it a toaster turned on it's side to try and stop the cheese sliding off into the toaster (because the drunken haze said it would work) it doesn't cook well in a toaster and it will cost you a replacement toaster...  ;)

In the SWCC hut last year, there was a certificate to some drunken oaf who tried to construct cheese on toast vertically in the toaster.  :doubt:

Needless to say, he failed epically and had to replace toaster.

Don't you have toaster ovens there? Works great for cheese on toast =D

Also, a bit of butter with a sprinkle of garlic powder makes it like cheesy garlic bread. Which, is just pretty awesome. Now to do this with some pizza sauce or marinara sauce to dip it in....yum!
