Wookey cave guides

Still, even that wasn't the worst. One cave in West Virginia is owned by a young-earth creationist and the stuff they are obliged to spout is atrocious. The guides don't believe it, I know, we talked with them but they have to keep the boss happy. I'm only glad that I learnt about her peculiarities after I'd met her. Had I known then, there might have been some sort of (un)diplomatic incident.
Ever look at their website? http://www.organcave.com/Geology.htm is particularly scary - and all their cave tours are "based on the King James Bible". I hear it is a lovely cave, but yes...they are teaching YE stuff as fact on every tour. Welcome to America.

The best show cave I know of here is Cathedral Caverns. It really is pretty awesome, tour guides are all knowledgeable that I've had (except one....said the big shark tooth in the ceiling was from a cave shark when questioned...LOL, but I think that person was a summer job sort of person, their regular people are great). There are some modifications I am not a fan of really but overall as far as show caves go, it is impressive, tour quality good, and they do try hard to keep the cave well conserved. All the lighting is very well hidden even so other than the paved wide walkway, it doesn't scream tour cave. And the accessability was the original owner/developer he felt all people especially handicapped people should be able to enjoy the underground wonders so it was very much his lead that they follow today, attempting to keep it as accessable to everyone as possible. with the good balance they seem to have, I can go for that. Oh, and while tours are $20, they do discount to cavers for only $10 =) There's a pretty good working relationship with the caving community which probably helps it stay as good as it is.
