Aspen 4 is a specially-developed alkylate petrol for four-stroke engines. It can be used with a whole array of different four-stroke engines, including lawnmowers, rotary cultivators and snowblowers.

Excellent - cheers for that!

West Texas Intermediate - although it does depend if shutting down & reopening will cost more than continuing production.

Seems to have first been announced back in mid March. They have a capacity of 700 million barrels, but over 600 were already filled.

Apparently that's down to the oil futures traders who'd bought options on May production having a panic; can't sell what they've bought, can't afford to store it until the price increases again so they're having to pay people to take it off them. I'm not having a schadenfreude moment, honestly....

The price of crude has gone negative. -US$35 a barrel.

Yikes, imagine a world where you go to the petrol station and get paid to fill up your car.  ;)

Somehow or other events are all starting to gather into a perfect storm.  Double yikes!

And in some countries there are negative interest rates where you pay the bank to hold onto your money...

As at 16.30 today, wholesale electricity prices were -?55 per MWh! This is driven by lots of solar & wind power on the grid (64% of the total), with no coal and only 16% gas, leading to record low carbon emissions of 40g per kWh (compare this to Poland's coal dominated 600g kWh). Still far more than Iceland's 28g kWh.  Roll on the energy transition...

Most countries charge you for Banking, here there's so much competition that they need incentives to get their hands on your money (& WERE making so much off investing it that they didn't need to charge us - conversely they were making far more profit from our money than we ever did).

Feel quite sorry for Donald Trump.
He's a decent bloke, very sensitive with a fragile personality, struggling to hold together a difficult marriage, then on top of it all the oil price crashes threatening his economy while at he same time people are falsely claiming to be ill just to claim sick pay.
To help him out I have checked and my shed at home is way too big for my needs.
Even if I spread my caving gear out I barely fill half of it.
As a result I have written to him today offering to store most of his excess oil for free as long as I can use a little if I need - I only change it once every 10'000 miles or so it wouldn't be much.
I reckon I can fit at least 10 full barrels at the back, some more under the window and one or two by the door.
Actions like this should prop up Uncle Same until the situation eases.
If other cavers step in we can sort out some of the other major problems in the world such as Boris's wedding arrangements as lockdown is going to make it difficult to fit it in before the baby arrives!

Sure I?ll help out.  Boris Johnson can have my spare room as his third home. He?s already moved out of no 10 to his 2nd home at chequers.  I?m sure it won?t be breaking the rules of the lockdown to move to a 3rd.  I?m not shaking his hand though.
Trump can use my Store Room.  It?s in a Deep State of misinformed Clutter and fake newspapers.    o_O
