Nakanai expedition

Yes, I know it was a French-Swiss expedition, but there are photos in the Mail Online, 15 November:

Terrific photos by Philippe Bence, but the Daily Mail captioneer strikes again!
A man stands observing the stalagmites ... while looking upwards.
The caver abseiling above a pool of water isn't actually on a rope.
One caver isn't preparing to plunge into a pool of cold water, because she's going to use the traverse line to her left.
The team aren't beginning their long descent into the caves, because they're prussiking.

Maybe one day they'll learn to ask expert opinion as to what photos actually show.

Cracking formations!

The ropeless abseiling technique obviously makes for lighter tackle bags on long trips...

I think they got the abseiling and preparing to plunge into a pool of water ones mixed up.

Don't forget the caption about that mammal in the deep dark cave which has clearly up a small shrub in the woods. (its just night time!)
