The recent "State of Nature" report details that 2/3 of species in UK are declining whilst "bats are doing better and it seems that several species' populations are now stabilising or even beginning to recover after declines during the earlier decades of the 20th century."

There has been a steady increase in myotis species counts in Surrey in recent years. This coming winter will tell us if the adverse spring has had an effect this year.
