PocketTopo to Compass?
« on: May 22, 2015, 01:41:53 pm »
Hi,

I need to import data from PocketTopo to Compass and I'm curious what is the best and fastest method?

Any suggestion is more than welcome.

Update - 2-14-15 or newer (I assume) of Compass, claims to import directly.

See http://www.fountainware.com/compass/

Don't forget to keep the original file, at some point the data might be needed to be putbinto a different survey program, and Compass data storage is not the best for this (or certainly did not use to be). Don't forget the cave-registry.org.uk for storing data and working in a group  ;D

Andrew is correct, I believe. Compass will still convert data entered into it in other units into tape decimal feet before saving it. Thus it is essential that the original data is kept.
