Napp's Cave on TV
« on: April 20, 2016, 11:38:06 pm »
Secret Britain tonight featured Napp's Cave although rather disappointing images of it's aragonite formations compared to some I have seen. I have only been there once and didn't fancy the squeeze on my own. It is about half an hour into the programme.

A recent visit:

so on to Napp's Cave.  This is at the Napps Holiday Touring Park.  Here we met a typical Devonshire agricultural idiot.  First he said there was no cave here.  I said I had visited the cave 20 years ago. He then claimed I could not visit the cave as it was too far away.  Finally he said the cave was locked and he did not know who had the key. Further questioning produced that there was a manager who might know more.  After knocking on the door and getting no answer, I plucked up courage and opened the door and called "Is anyone at home?", I closed the door quickly as there was a notice, beware of the dog.  The dog, came to the door and did not even bark!  The lady who came to the door was not very helpful.  Yes, the cave is locked, but she does not know who had the key.  I was told to ring later as her husband knew.  But when Anne phoned at 5.00 pm there was no answer or answer phone.  Some Caravan site.  The reviews on the net said the manager was "grumpy".
