Too many people that should be around and aren't. So I thought I'd start with Type O Negative and the excellent Peter Steele. As ever thoughts and comments welcome.

Anything by jazzman Mathew Coe - aka "Xero Slingsby" (his stage name - after his hero Cecil Slingsby of the early Yorkshire Ramblers Club). Matthew was also a caver (nephew of the famous Randy Coe of the CPC). He was taken from us far too early by a brain tumour. The bloke was an amazing character and an absolute legend. This resource is useful and may bring back some fond memories, for certain users of this forum:

Whether or not you like jazz, have a listen to the audio track in the chapter starting "Dearly beloved . . . ".  It's really skilful - this is a bloke who was a complete failure at school but passed his interview to get into music college, with no formal music training at all, on the strength of playing his tin whistle and using his sharp intellect to win over the interviewer.

They threw the mould away . . .

Forgot about his one. The crazies take the good ones out, shameful.
