JH insitu rope by Leviathan
« on: January 11, 2021, 08:51:27 pm »
Came across the below whilst searching for JH rigging guides. Has probably been sorted but just thought I'd mention it!

Post is from 2015.

The in situ rope that runs on to the top of the Leviathan pitch that has a label "This rope needs replacing in 2010 or before if damaged" appears to have been finally replaced.
It appears to be 11mm Edlerid SuperStatic and fairly new.

It probably needs a new label saying "this rope needs replacing in 2020"
the old rope and some other bits laying around appear to have been removed
Where there's a will there's a way :)

I think that was placed by one of the ink sump divers, it’s not one of the official aids so if you want it can be removed?

I think the rope your referring to is the short length which can be used if you go through the tea rooms rather than the traverse to abseil past the water collection for the pipes.

It sounds to me like the rope that runs from the Workshop passage to literally the top of Leviathan (the old main pitch that no-one uses), opposite where we cleaned all that loose crap out from the bedding workings last year.
