The through trip to Haggs Level (emerges at the side of Haggs Bank Bunkhouse!  ;D )is good if you dont mind water or loose shale... Plenty to see in odd corners if you like geology, industrial archaeology, history etc... The more you push into remote areas the looser it will feel  :o
First pic is Haggs Level
Second is Brownley Hills usual adit entrance...

If you've never been to Nenthead before, I'd say a trip into either Smallcleugh or Rampgill is probably better :)

I've always driven up the track and parked here: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/54.793801,+-2.348808/@54.7940041,-2.349462,17z/data=!3m1!1e3

Not sure if you're actually supposed to drive up there, but nobody has ever bothered me when I've been...

Thanks Pete , is there a pull in to avoid annoying people ?

It's quite wide and you can park on the verge, so should be out of the way.

There's some really interesting stuff in there if you don't mind the odd dodgy unprotected climb  :)
