Lathkill Dale 'a bit wet'

underground

Active member
Unfortunately I didn't get any pics but Lathkill Dale was rather damp when we went for a walk there today - I've never seen the river so torrential, all the soughs were overflowing and joining the river at above the normal water level,  and the footpath was completely 'sumped' from just past the aqueduct pillars (we took the right hand branch and the water was overflowing at the bridge over the river to Bateman's House)....

This may be nothing new but it impressed me with the amound of water flowing.

I suspect any trips into the wetter parts of lathkill Head cave may have to wait a few days
