Check out the BBC news site - apparently there was civilisation and even art on Mendip in the distant past. How the mighty have fallen...

They were probably done by the same lot on a visit from the Peak who did the engravings at Creswell!  :lol:

I've seen some bearded primitive looking types, communicating in grunts and with their knuckles scraping on the ground when I was in Mendip. I just thought it was the BEC.

Nope, the Creswell stuff is a couple of thousand years older than what's been found on Mendip (so far ;)  )
Caving is for Life not just for Christmas
