I?m in the process of compiling an archive of videos related to Hidden Earth - opening videos, closing videos, videos featured in lectures, video salon entries, salon winners, distinctions and merits, and if they have been uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo, where they can be found.

Please let me know if either you have produced/entered such a video or if you know of any other videos that have featured at Hidden Earth. I would like to know:
  • Name of Video.
  • Year.
  • If it?s online the URL of the video.
  • What the video was used for/in, e.g. opening video, lecture, video salon entry and so on.
  • For Video Salon Entries, if it won or got a distinction or merit.
  • Anything else of interest about the video.

Thanks in anticipation. Keith

How far back to you want to go?  I think I have one that was entered by Buster Wright in the 80s which was a spoof. It was filmed in Calfholes and a mune in Derbyshire . It was called Jigsaw Pot. If you are interested I will try and dig it out. It was on VHS but has been digitised.

Hi Mary. As far back as possible please. If this video is available in digital form that would be great as we will be able to look at how equipment and editing have progressed over the years.

I will dig it out - but am on leave for a week so wont be able to do it until I get back. What I doknow is that it was made using a large heavy camera with a home made waterproof box- called the Buster Box which I think won some sort of prize. My how things have come on! The box was made out ofd ice cream cartons and a rubber glove!

Thanks Mary. The background/story behind each video is very interesting to me. I will have to add a notes field to the archive.

And thanks Adrian for posting the link to your award-winning video. I'm also hoping to be able to feature the channels of cave videographers. I will add your channel to the list.

Thanks very much Cap'n. I shall spend this evening binge watching your fillums. Your Goatchurch fillum is still one of my all time favourites. Oh, and that gives me an idea for a future thread once as many videos as possible have been tracked down - personal favourites the HE video archive.

Please come 'em coming.

I have managed to find a few more videos for my project. The attached PDF contains everything I know about to date. The aim now is to create a YouTube channel with links to all of the videos that are available online. If you are interested in underground video then please have a look and do let me know if you spot any errors or can help fill in some gaps. It would be really great if I could unearth earlier stuff. I understand that the video/AV salon first appeared at Hidden Earth 2001. Early stuff may only exist on VHS tape or DVD. I can easily digitise DVDs and may be able to blow the dust off an old VHS player in order to digitise tapes. Please help if you can.
