How to move and raise large blocks on your own

Here's an engineer's view of how to move and raise large blocks and monoliths on your own.  Pretty impressive.  Probably more lost technology and methods from ancient times slowly being re-discovered.

I think it is more a case of using your noddle than rediscovering ancient techniques. I expect most of us have used similar tactics in our digs. In fact a few days ago we had to shift a large boulder in a confined space to allow further digging. John Crae cracked it by digging out the floor one side and stacking the spoil on the other and soon the boulder was out of the way down a hole leading to a satisdactory dig conclusion.
