I've just seen on the other channels that Brian Cropper passed away late last week.
Brian ran the YHA climbing shop on Deansgate in the 60s and 70s, center of the Manchester climbing and caving scene. He was an avid photographer, and his gallery on UKclimbing.com is a fantastic browse.
He kept pestering me a while ago to get the history of the Eldon PC written up, as he was involved with the likes of Toogood, Burke etc etc and presumably attended the legendary buxton stomps.
