I wouldn't call anything prior to 1940 as vintage, however I do applaud the DCA, and other organisations which do the same, in making caving documents open to the public (or at least to cavers in general). I wish all caving organisations would do the same, instead of having them behind a Login.

In the antiques trade, 'vintage' is a description given to items between 50 and 100 years old. But we're talking DCA Newsletters here, and it seems fair enough to refer to 20-year-old newsletters as vintage. They have reached the venerable state of being historical documents, and it's fantastic to see them being made available online. Well done, guys.

The earliest DCA newsletters date back to the 1960s, so when those come to be scanned and placed online they really will fit the definition of "vintage"!
