Thanks to Jon Pemberton and Rob Eavis who put the shenanigans down on “paper”.
Great reading! Thanks for putting this together, and very well laid out with some great photos :)

The concluding figures and logistics is also a great addition to any expedition report.

Brought back some good memories from my time there, would be nice to return at some point, there's a huge river passage hiding down there somewhere I'm sure...

Historical note on the "previously purist Eldon territories" described in the introduction of the report: The Axbridge (inc. Roger Gullidge) were the first UK club caving in that area, which was a good few years prior to the Eldon.

Originally, a couple of Eldon members took it upon themselves to go to the region on numerous prospecting trips to get a better idea of the full potential of the area, with a view to it being a realistic proposition, logistically, for a larger team expedition.

Eventually, after the initial full team Eldon expedition, there was, with a few notable exceptions, something of a hiatus in getting people to commit to going out there again, or at least in a sizeable group.
At this point, Ade joined in with the original two Eldon members who had originally been to blame for doggedly returning to breaking new ground out there, in what was at the time, far more hostile conditions than is the case now.
Ade Pedley (Crewe/YSS) has been pushing new stuff in the area for many years, and I reckon his expeds out there must certainly be heading into double figures by now.

Over the years, the welcome assistance of cavers from other UK clubs has been required to allow some nominal degree of backup, should anything go pear-shaped whilst up in the mountains.

Indeed! We were lucky to have Roger join the Eldon exped in 2010, and his enthusiasm for Vaso and his daring climb at the end to find the way one was the main reason that has ended up as one of the deepest known caves on the mountain.

A little more on that original history can be found here:
