I was stood at the bottom of the cliff only yesterday, and someone pointed out which tree he'd been hanging from. I'm even more certain now that this was no 'satnav accident'. Calling that an accident is Dali-level reinterpretation 
I had a walk up Cave Dale at about 19.30, and it was literally deserted, apart from a woman and her daughter looking for fossils below the castle - I walked right up to the gate by the Cavedale Lava to catch the sun going down over Mam Tor, and then walked back down again and never saw another person, or heard a sound apart from birds - it was awesome.
