Out of interest, is it a separate cave, or is it an extension of the show cave? And they also mention opening up mine workings over the road, would that be Grenade Shaft?

Hi Snebbit, Alanw, thanks for the interest. Its basically a loop from the bottom of the straight run of steps through to the Sentinel, near the Reideer steps.
The bit across the road is the original miners entrance rift which was skilfully capped with concrete rings by former owner Gordon Hanley. Its a capped and locked ( except for bat access) Shaft which could be used ( with some difficulty) to remove old dig spoil blocking the proposed route. Its all subject to Natural England consent still and the announcements were a bit prem. Still the interest in the project is very encouraging.
