Best for lumens/price: Magicshine. These use Crees and have high capacity batteries - 4 X 18650 Lithium-ion. e.g. the MJ-816E gives 1800 lumens for ?100. These incredibly bright lamps are primarily aimed at cyclists but are perfect for easier caving and for photographic floodlighting. With a little modification to improve the wire between the battery and headlamp, they could be used for harder trips. See http://www.magicshineuk.co.uk

Have used Petzls' Ultra Wide for the last year or so and has stood up to to some serious bashing about and the occasional dunking very well! Very happy with it and the fact you can detach it from your caving helmet and re-attach to a separate (supplied) head strap/harness thing makes it very useful should you want to go mountain biking/hill walking when the sun goes down!  This is a very handy feature  too for finding your way back to  your digs from post cave pub antics!

I'm thinking of upgrading the battery on mine from an ACCU 2 to an ACCU 4.  Quite an expensive do tho at ?120  but (According to Petzl spec anyway) will double the burn time.  Anyone been down this road? Is it worth a look??

Bisun!
Fantastic spot, pure wide beam, independent controls, ultra reliable (two beams are totally independent of one another), latest generation (at date of manufacture) high efficiency LEDs, can be turned down to ultra-low for multi-day camping trips off one battery, extremely flexible power supply options (Duracell Flatcells, AAs and high capacity NiMh packs all with the same Petzl battery case).

Anyone want to buy me a Rude Nora?

If it helps then why not consider a Scurion first, then actually buy the Nora, thereby saving yourself a lot of money!  :-\

What a strange website.

No phone number, no address, no prices and no specifications.

Must make it very hard to order anything!

  that was great I am literally LOL'ing!

And uhm yeah...I want a Rude Nora as well. Got to see Mud and Linda's (first folk in the US to have the RN) back in April. Hot damn! Was as awesome as I thought it was. Linda's was exactly how I want mine too...Purple with all the purple pimp-outs! I tried to trade helmets with her but she didn't want to (same helmet mine has his custom duo on it instead is all). Awww.

I went into Dow with a couple candles.  You move so slowly to avoid splashing it or accidentally blowing it out and not being able to see more than a few feet meant you went even slower.  Must have taken hours to get anywhere.

I tried out my new customduo spot drop in last week in Black Reef. I've been using one of Bifs flood modules for a while and really like it. The spot module is something else. Just fantastic.
Four power levels, 20, 60, 140 and 260 lumens. I caved on the 140 lumen level and the beam was lovely. A nice broad spot and more than enough peripheral spill to see what was going on at foot level. The spot seemed to give me much better depth perception than a full flood. I felt less clumsy!  I tested the battery life after the trip and I got a full 6 hours on the setting I was using.

I had been lusting after a Gucci caving light but to be honest my current setup is likely to meet my needs for a long time to come.

I'd call it constructive criticism and take it on board, there are some pretty basic things that give people confidence when buying from a website.
