    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Just a heads up, tomorrow ULSA will be descending on Birkwith. There'll be 50 of us in total, so it might be a little cosy down there.

Don't want to put anyone off going, just thought i'd give some warning.

That said, the plan may change at the last minute as the weathers being temperamental.

Did you go down ?  Did you all come back up again ?

Nice to see so many potential newcomers, though  (y)

Indeed. There was less rain than was forecast and existing water levels were very low. The caves were drier than I had ever seen them!

Was a rare occasion of 'who dares wins', rather than the usual 'who dares drowns'. Was a difficult call whether to cancel or not, especially with a potential loss on transport hire of about ?300 and having to reimburse nearly a grand in takings. Big numbers for a student club running on a shoe string, but safety always comes first of course.

Pleased it was a very slick efficient trip with lots of smiles on new faces.
