Board changes - Obits

I support "Obituary", but I suggest that whatever term is chosen, it should be unambiguously in reasonable taste as well as respectful.

Lots of good suggestions, the only one I don't like is "Obituary", it's a bit depressing and not very accurate.

These are basically biographies, not one off tributes.

If we're looking for something less formal than "obituaries" as a section title, how about "absent friends"?

I  think this is best suggestion so far. ie:- "absent friends". I have a few unfortunately...

If we are going down the mining terms road, what about Deads? However, my personal preference is for a sense of decorum and respect. Obituaries is perfectly OK - why are people so scared of being serious and conventional now and again? This is the perfect place to "behave", if you see what I mean.

The Craven always used to use Ave Atque Vale in their journal but I doubt we've many Latin scholars left these days. ("Hail and Farewell" the final line of an elegy by Catullus to his dead brother.)

These days, if you recognise that phrase the odds are you picked it up from Alan Moore's  graphic novel "V for Vendetta"  rather than in a Latin lesson...

As a compromise suggestion, the main title could be "obituaries" with the sub line for the boards view being whichever of the less formal offerings is most preferred?
