Bolting

Indeed.

Cavers have been leaps and bounds ahead of the climbing world in this respect.  I'm currently involved in both worlds at the moment.  BMC peak area bolt fund has just run a bolting workshop which I attended.  There seems to be real lack of knowledge on such matters amongst the general climbing population compared with the caving world.

I find it amazing that the 12mm through bolts and couer hangers are still far more common than resins, though perhaps the tide is starting to shift, with resins starting to replace old bolts at venues such as Raven Tor, Cressbrook etc etc.

BCA/CNCC and DCA have been doing some stirling work in testing new resin style anchors to replace the DMM Eco anchors installed throughout the peak and dales in the 90s and 2000's.
