Browns Folly Quarry / Mine - ongoing deliberate destruction

This forum has a large membership, with a strong Mendip based body of members
Other concerned forums have Mendip based members as well
It would not be that difficult to organise 2 or 3 people on a rota of many to cover evenings and weekends.
Photography tutorials organised
Obscure corners found
Tea light and string people shown how to navigate
Lost youngsters could be introduced to the place safely, the decorators would be inhibited. Who knows some discussions about how people feel may take place and give feedback to the rest of the membership
I am sure in short order the situation would be resolved in a positive manner

Apologies to all members and mods for bickering

You are acting as an apologist for them by saying it isnt their fault.

No, quite the contrary. You are, for insisting that this is all the "yob's" fault. Brain can do no wrong.

Let's try, one last time.

Although the over-reaction to Brian's actions is totally and utterly unacceptable, his actions that have helped caused this. Both have fault, and both need to step back from the deeply entrenched positions they hold before this can be resolved.

Did see somewhere recently that there was going to be another party.
Any reports?
Yes, on the 17th. 1000's of jigsaw pieces scattered everyewhere. Fresh fish left as a long term stink bomb. Damage limited this time and littering lower level, even some evidence of a clear up... It would seem the oxygen of publicity is having some positive outcomes.

Here's something for you to mull over; maybe,  just maybe, those who carried out the attack are amongst you, actively condemning the vandalism.

I don't know anything about any of this and I don't know anyone involved either, but looking at most of the profiles on the Facebook page a few weeks ago I realised that a few people that I'm friends or acquainted with, are "mutual friends" with those on the page. I guess it doesn't mean anything really, but I would hazard a guess that pressure was put on those owning the page to have it made private.

Needless to say, if they want to stay anonymous then they could just "unlike" the page, leaving a few that don't have anything to do with the incidents, left over when people like us go and have a gander.

All I'm saying I guess is there are many ways to hide yourself on the internet, but yes perhaps they are "amongst us" or maybe not.

If they are indeed watching us, then would it be an idea to hold an overnight party ourselves to clean up the mine. With Music, Beer and other party related items. Whilst leaving the mine in a better state than we've found it.

Just a wacky thought, but I couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery, only sew the seed for the hops ;)
