Cameras for videoing?

My wife uses a TG4 underwater and took a lovely video of a seahorse. I keep trying to persuade the OR to use his TG4 for video underground but he says it is too complicated  which baffles me as you only have to press the red button! Sound quality is the big problem. I showed something recently taken with an Olympus EP and there is a strange purring noise accompanying the whole thing. My next purchase will have to a mike I think. Paul Taylor recommended something called a Zoom.

On the subject of spending more money, DJI have just realised their osmo pocket that looks a handy piece of kit (once combined with the waterproof housing).

Has anyone got one of these? I've just checked out the specification and it does look very interesting. I'd love to see some underground footage taken with it. If Santa is very kind to me I may have to do a review video.

Hi jacking the thread slightly, what do you guys use for editing?

I have a few projects I want to have a go at and wondered if the extra ?3 a month (student offer) for Adobe premier is worth the coin over alternatives

Spooky, I've recently downloaded BlackMagic DaVinci Resolve. It's free. Have to scroll right down to the bottom of the page to get the free stuff. I don't like being tied in to the subscription stuff. Have to have a proper play to investigate further, but it it looks rather smart.  They also make decent cameras etc. that you can stick micro 4/3 lenses on (e.g.Olympus, Panasonic, Voightlander)

osmo pocket only available for pre-order - for delivery before xmas if they're smart.

i've got a zhiyun smooth Q gimbal which I used with my phone for my video, and it did the job. Gimbals are superb things, and I reckon the Oslo Pocket might be a game changer. With a waterproof case, it should be pretty cave proof!

Blackmagic davinci resolve is a great bit of software, amazing for colour grading and compositing and free! The recent addition of the audio tab is something I want to have a proper play with. I'd like to get my hands on their pocket cinema camera 4k, but sadly the budget doesn't stretch to that at the moment, one day....
