Cave 84, 85, 86

Way back in the eighties Chris Baxter and I produced some spoof 'news programme' videos for the BCRA conferences. They were digitalised and edited down for a new airing at the recent Hidden Earth.

They have now been uploaded as a 40 minute video on to YouTube.

They are a window into the caving scene of 40 years ago. They are satirical, painful, personal and controversial. And very much 'of their time'.

Maybe once, during the 80's. But the videoing aged me. I have been very old ever since.

Really enjoyed them, for the incidental historic technical detail included as much as the targeted mentions of various bullshitters and airline-promoting godheads.

Definitely needs a Caving 25 as an anniversary edition. Potentially revisiting some of the original characters
