In 'The Lair of the White Worm' a Ken Russel film starring Hugh Grant, Thors Cave in the Manifold is very recognisable featured.

Half a dozen Derbyshire cavers were used as extras, (John Beck in a Ken Russel film  ) anyone know who the others were

Talking to John in the pub last night, he said it was one of most bizzare experiences he's ever had, apparantley Ken Russel had his minions carry a huge table, pristine white table cloth, best china, silver cutlery and a banquet, from the car park up to the cave for lunch during filming, all served by butlers.

Hanging Flat mine (stoney) was used in "Casulaty" as the location of a cave rescue.

The To55ers left their big polystyrene rocks behind in there and didnt take them out....

Peak practice actually, and quite a few of the polystyrene rocks were ued in Eyam carnival as part of a Hogwarts set

Sounds like an excellent idea! Mind you, I would settle for the odd pizza delivery.

I beleive bits of Peak Cavern Stream way doubled for some of the tunnels under Jerusalem or some such for a biblical era drama of some sorts.

Cavers' viewpoint synopsis: totally implausible scenario results in d-list actors snuffing it in a variety of unsurprising ways. Hilarious for its stereotypically guessed portrayal of caving.

Yordas Cave was used for a rescue on either Heartbeat or The Royal.
There was a classic bit where a caver was strugling along the back wall towards the Chapter House trying to fine a way out.
If he'd looked behind he'd have seen the entrance.

Is anyone aware of any cave/caving films that aren't horror films. Obviously there are quite a few factual documentary type films available but are there any fictional adventure type caving films? My wife said she quite enjoyed "Descent" until the monsters appeared and it became "silly".

There is the film "Gold" with Roger Moore but that was set in a working mine.
