cant say I've ever heard of it, but I reckon its probably a good read.
For my last birthday, an non outdoorsy type friend bought me
"The mammoth book of MOUTNAIN DISASTERS. true accounts of rescue from the brink of death"
compiled by Hamish Macinnes.
At first I thought, oh cheers, cheery reading this one.
but actually its great. All the classics compiled into one. Still some of em ar e still a bit gut wrenching to read eg Toni Kurz (eiger) or more recently the Andrew Fisher on the doites.
